about her
the idea of making sourdough first popped into my head about 3 years ago when i moved to the kentish countryside, it just felt fitting honestly. after watching an unhealthy amount of sourdough tik toks and becoming completely overwhelmed by words like “hydration” and “bulk ferment”, i finally decided to just give it a go… and that’s when priscilla was born.
priscilla being my sourdough starter. she’s basically become part pet, part child at this point.
for the last few years i’ve been baking with her pretty much every week, slowly turning into the kind of person who talks about the gut health benefits or fermented foods and can no longer enjoy supermarket bread. sourdough really does change you.
i’ve always loved baking, growing up, my mum taught me everything i know, and i’ve spent years force feeding friends and family my latest creations while fishing for compliments afterwards.
more recently i decided to stop daydreaming about doing this properly and just go for it. so here we are: small batch sourdough, sweet bakes, a slightly high-maintenance starter called priscilla.
priscilla has done me, my family and friends so good over the years so i think its time to share the joy.
i hope you love her as much as we do ❤️
